Guest Lecture : International Business Culture Class

Mr. Schmidt shared 20 years of his experience living in Indonesia with all the cultural differences from Germany (his homeland).

During the session, he told the students that he did not experience a culture shock when he firstly arrived in Surabaya, Indonesia. This was because right after he graduated from an university in Germany, he had the opportunity to work in India, where he studied the Asian cultures. There are many cultural differences between European cultures and Asian ones, but Mr. Schmidt finds them interesting. He also defined to the students that one of the keys to success in international business is the ability and the willingness to understand other cultures.
