Being an Entrepreneur is a trend that highly attracts millennial generation--in building a brand new business; or to develop an existing family business. An Entrepreneur has the privilege to be independent financially. However, there are unavoidable risks that need to be taken care of.
Character Development Class shared by Daniel Christian Tarigan, SH, MM - a lecturer and an initiator and director of Quick &' Clean Laundry Makassar which has a remarkable story. For years ago, the business almost bankrupt and Daniel wasn't able to pay half of his employees-yet in April 2018, Quick &' Clean Laundry won Indonesia Best Practices Laundry Awards (IBPLA) 2018. Daniel suggested that to be a successful Entrepreneur, you need to be able to predict what would be demanded by customers in the future. So, for example --you need to predict what will be a success in 5 years time, so if we are starting now, we'll expect the biggest benefit in 5 years time. It's too late to make a business predicting what will be a success in the present time.
The class gave new insight to the students, especially seeing Entrepreneur as one of the feasible solutions to be successful in this uncertain economy.
IBE students visited PT.Campina Indonesia, which founded in Surabaya in 1972, and has been growing to be one of the biggest ice cream manufacturers in Indonesia.
The visit started with a presentation from Campina regarding their company profile and production process flow. After the presentation, the students were given a chance to ask some questions to the company. A complete tour conducted, to show to the students how ice cream production manufactured. A memorable visit was to the warehouse, which temperature was -19 degrees!
The visit was beneficial for the students to have a hands-on in the industry, by comparing to materials given in the class. Before leaving, each one of us got a chance to eat free ice cream from Campina. Thank you Campina for the visit!
Character Development class went to Taman Safari Prigen, which is the biggest nature preservation in Asia. The purpose of the journey was to have an exposure to nature and to increase social skills. After visiting all the plants and animals at Taman Safari, outbound activity was conducted. The students divided into several groups before taking part in several games. Several benefits gathered from outbound activities found such as: finding solutions quickly to a particular problem, increasing communication skill, and shaping students to work best in teams.

Introduction to Industrial Engineering class on October 23, 2017 welcome a guest lecturer from Sheffield Hallam University, United Kingdom, i.e. Professor Terrence Perera. He will introduce complexities and challenges involved in the design, management and operation of supply chains and associated logistics.
Abstract
Behind every event, product and service there is a supply chain. Organising the right supply chain and efficient logistics are incredibly challenging as most supply chains span across the globe. The ultimate aim of any supply chain is to maximise the overall customer satisfaction.
Taking a range of examples, this presentation will introduce complexities and challenges involved in the design, management and operation of supply chains and associated logistics. Following the introduction, the presentation will illustrate how modern management tools, new technologies and IT solutions are deployed to produce effective and efficient supply chains.
There is a global skill shortage and companies are struggling to recruit graduates and professionals with appropriate logistics and supply chain management skills. This presentation will therefore conclude with a discussion on alternative learning paths available to develop core skills.
